Eva Ziemsen, Ph.D.

Dr. Eva Ziemsen is a Professor of Film & Media in the Faculty of Media and Creative Arts (FMCA) at Humber College. She is an award-winning filmmaker and educator, with 20 years of experience in the creative, logistic, artistic, and educational areas of film production. She holds a Ph.D. that focused on the origins of Virtual Production, in her dissertation, “Developing a Learning Model to Teach Film Production Online,” from the University of British Columbia, a MA in Feature Film Development from Goldsmiths University, and a BFA (Hons) in Film & Video Production from York University. Eva recently completed the Micro-Credential in Virtual Production at Sheridan College, at SIRT Centre, where she gained practical and current training in ICVFX, MOCAP, volume set-up, and other aspects of the pipeline. She teaches a course in Virtual Production and is the lead curriculum developer of new programs in VP at Humber College. Eva is an early adopter of Virtual Production and Metaverse technology, she has made films in virtual worlds and has taught in the Metaverse. Eva has hosted a Panel on Women in Virtual Production as part of the Female Eye Film Festival, at TIFF Lightbox, as part of her goal to help foster a culture of inclusivity, especially for women in Virtual Production. A collaborator at heart, she and her team won the Innovation of the Year Award (2022) at Humber College for a Collaborative Pipeline of VP and she continues to  contribute expertise in VP, film and virtual education.

Elizabeth Fenuta, OAA, M.Arch

Elizabeth Fenuta is a Professor of Architectural Technology in the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology (FAST) and partner/co-founder at Hout Architecture Inc. She is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA). She has received her Master of Architecture and Honors Bachelor of Architectural Studies from the University of Waterloo. Studying architecture in Italy and working at various prestigious architecture and design firms in Toronto. She has taught and researched at the University of Waterloo and Toronto Metropolitan University. She is familiar with the variety of design software, the capacities of BIM software, and the workflows at BIM Studio. Elizabeth continues to contribute expertise on the standards and principles of design, architecture, ethics, and project management.

Aditya Dutta

Industry Software Engineer, Programmer & Mentor

Aditya Dutta is a Software Engineer at Archiact. He has been part of the VR industry for almost 4 years now and has worked in the education, training and gaming sectors using emerging technologies. He is an alumnus of the Game Programming program at Humber College and represented Humber in various events across North America. He has also been part of the Oculus Launchpad Cohort of 2021 for his project LooseBall. Aditya has been an industry mentor and lead programmer on this project, guiding the programmers on the technical aspects of VR and Multiplayer using Unreal Engine 5. He has also assisted in the planning and scoping of the first phase of the project.

James Del Pilar

Work-Study Student, Game Programming

James Del Pilar is a programmer that has experience in projects that are focused on game development. Subjects that James is familiar with are c++ programming, graphics programming, mathematics, physics, artificial intelligence, Unreal Engine, Unity Engine and computer networking. In addition, James has been involved in many projects (VR, AR, Virtual Production, Competitive multiplayer) that included the collaboration of other programmers and artists while implementing the Agile methodology. Ariel Quinteros

Work-Study Student, Game Programming

Ariel Quinteros is a Second Year Game Programming student at Humber College. He has taken C++, Game Concepts, and Computer graphics courses and has brought his previous Technical Artist experience from the Architectural Visualization world to this project. Ariel primarily focused on optimizing asset performance to hit the goal of a desktop VR project, as well as exploring and defining a workflow to move the Revit project files to Unreal Engine, all scoped to the production time constraint. Ariel is pursuing a Technical Artist role in the industry and is currently involved in developing other interactive projects for Humber College.

Elijah Alejandro

Work-Study Student, Interior Design

Elijah Alejandro is a Senior Year Interior Design student at Humber College Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology (FAST). She is a student member of Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) and has been in the dean’s list since freshman year. Her previous year of experience working in the industry was carried out in the project by assisting in the design concept of the floor and ceiling installation then building it in 3D. She has always been interested in the application of gaming software in architecture. The software she used for the project are Revit, Sketchup, and Twinmotion.

Kate Ellis

Research Assistant

Kate Ellis (she/her), is a Toronto-based filmmaker specializing in directing, producing, andscreenwriting. She has a diploma in Journalism from Algonquin College, an advanced diploma inFilm and Television Production from Humber College, and an Honours Bachelor of Film andMedia Production from Humber College. She has produced two award-winning shortdocumentaries, directed four short films, written multiple screenplays including a feature-length film. She is currently in pre-production on a documentary and short drama. In addition,she worked as the Production Coordinator for Humber’s film programs for three years beforemaking the transition to teaching part-time in the Film and Television Production program inJanuary 2023. She looks forward to a long career in filmmaking and teaching.

Ju-Chieh(Jade) Liao

Work-Study Student, Game Programming

Ju-Chieh(Jade) Liao is a game programmer from Humber College. She has participated in multiple team projects that are developed in the scrum board system. She specializes in game related computational studies with C++, including graphics programming (OpenGL and Vulkan), game Artificial Intelligence (AI), gameplay programming, Unreal Engine and Unity. She is also familiar with Object-Oriented Programming, Design Patterns and Data Structures as Jade is interested in gameplay programming and design of software architecture.

Caitlynn Marshall

Research Assistant

Caitlynn Marshall is a graduate of Humber College’s Media Communications program. She has worked in content creation, social media, and video production. With a focus on branding and design, Caitlynn has collaborated with local businesses and content creators to help develop systems and aesthetics to build and manage an online presence. In her time as a Humber College student, Caitlynn built on her passion for production and film, while discovering a love for video editing. She enjoys photography, making YouTube videos, and obsessing over colour schemes.
